Smith County Historical Tourism is working on a self-guided driving tour of Tennessee Maneuvers locations
in Smith County, TN.
A two-foot by three-foot Way Side Sign will be erected at each of the 8 tour stops.
The locations are:
- Downtown Carthage
- Grant Highway
- New Middleton
- Rome Bridge
- Chestnut Mound
- Dixon Springs
- Pleasant Shade
The signs will include: photos taken in Smith County during the maneuvers, links to sit-down video interviews of locals who witnessed the maneuvers, links to archival newspaper articles and much more.
The project is scheduled to be completed by May 2023.
